If there is one thing I know for certain about the future it's that the next few decades will be used by governments to heavily promote home-scale power generators. The need to reduce greenhouse gasses has caused many governments around the world to offer appealing benefits to whoever can produce renewable energy sources.

Some states have better net metering polices than others. (Net metering is receiving retail credit for at least a portion of the electricity you produce.) A lot of people, including myself, are taking proper advantage of this deal.

The greatest part for the majority of people is just how cheap home-scale power generators can be. It's easier and quicker than ever to make your initial investment back. There are no laws that demand you spend a certain amount of money on your power generators. Meaning, you can start small with a high quality home-scale wind turbine that costs less than two-hundred dollars, and immediately start making that money back.

All the government cares about is making this concept catch on to the average person. It has never been so easy before and my mind boggles to think how they can make it any easier.
